Our AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy K and Play course is designed to get you and your puppy off to a great start. This course includes: Loose Leash Walking, Come/Recall, Sit, Down, Stay, Settle, Focus, and Release. In addition to learning basic obedience, we will focus on avoiding common problem behaviors in the home, such as housebreaking, chewing, nipping, and jumping on guests. We will also review puppy socialization, handling, and basic care and grooming needs. The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy exam will be administered during the last class.
This course is for people and dog friendly puppies from 8 weeks - 6 months of age. Proof of current puppy vaccinations is required to participate in class. No refunds will be issued once class begins.

This 6 week course helps students and their dogs take their obedience skills and transition to working off-leash. Specific training exercises ensure that our dogs are positively learning to respond to their owners regardless of whether they are on-leash or off-leash.
If your dog has not completed Family Dog Obedience Level 1 with That's My Dog Training, you will need to complete an evaluation prior to enrolling in class. Our Intermediate Obedience course will help you and your dog advance to the next level. This course includes: Heel in patterns, Heel Free, Extended Sit/Stay, Extended Down/Stay, Down in Motion/On Recall, Focus, Stand, Pivot Turns, Front, Place, and Recall Under Distraction. Duration, distance and distraction will be added to all Basic Obedience cues. We will introduce off-leash work gradually using positive methods that allow you to begin the transition. We will introduce the figure 8, and other activities that promote focus while owner and dog move together.

Our 4 week Canine Good Citizen Prep course focuses on the 10 behaviors required to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. Visit www.akc.org/events/cgc/ for specific details on test requirements. Our course includes the AKC Canine Good Citizen test during the last class. The AKC CGC testing fee is included in the course cost.
In order to be ready for this course, your dog must already be able to sit, down, stay, walk on a loose leash, pass people and dogs while walking, and calmly accept handling and brushing. If your dog does not have these foundation behaviors mastered, we suggest completing Family Dog Obedience Level 1 first.

Come join us for a one of a kind workout with your dog! This customized program provides you and your dog with a well-rounded workout in one hour. People of all fitness levels are welcome. Exercise modifications are shown to provide everyone from beginner exercisers to hard core fitness fanatics and Chihuahuas to Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs with a great workout. Our canine participants will also be reinforcing their basic obedience skills during this action packed course.
People Requirements: Participants must be over 18 years of age, complete the Fit With Fido Fitness Waiver, fitness teams are one handler and one dog only please, due to limited space we cannot accommodate multiple handlers, children, or other spectators.
Canine Requirements: All dogs must be at least one year old and people/dog friendly, have clearance from your veterinarian for regular exercise activities, and may not be significantly overweight or have health conditions that prevent regular exercise activities. Private conditioning lessons are available for dogs with specific needs. All dogs must have demonstrated basic obedience skills (sit, down, heel, stay).

This course is a specialized treatment program geared specifically to helping dogs conquer their fears. This class is for dogs who: bark or growl anxiously at people/dogs/cars/the vacuum cleaner/etc, run and hide from strangers, and cower/shake when encountering something new in their environment. You'll learn how to use counterconditioning and desensitizing techniques to treat a variety of fear-based behavioral problems.
